I hope Ariel Lin is just a rumor. I hope they pick another actress. I like Hankyung as one of the F4! The other guy? I have no idea who he is.

I wouldn’t mind watching ANOTHER adaptation but… Ariel Lin? I don’t like her, she bugs the heck out of me. Every show I’ve seen her in she’s annoying… If she’s in it, it will be on the bottom of my list, and that list is pretty long……

Yu Haoming is a RnB/pop singer who joined in singing contest in China. Don’t know much about him either except that he looks a LOT like Korean singer and ‘2 days 1 night’ member Lee Seunggi.

quite excited for this. meteor garden was a hit in the philippines, a chinese version with ariel in it will be a hit for sure!

ariel lin may be annoying in her dramas, but that’s because of the type of characters she plays. she’s actually a pretty damn good actress.

I’ll actually watch the drama if Hangeng is in it.

Uh…what? Hankyung (or rather, Han Geng) is from mainland China…plus, China doesn’t usually do idol dramas, especially actresses, so it makes sense that they’re pulling Ariel from Taiwan. And besides, Ariel does a lot of mainland dramas to begin with…

I thought Ariel Lin was a Taiwanese actress. Is she Chinese, instead?

ariel lin is bloody talented. people who only know her works in like It started with a Kiss, where the character is supposed to be fairly dumb altho good hearted, may find her annoying.

but you should check out her in the likes of:
Tian Wai Fei Xian (TWFX)
Legend of the Condor Heroes (LOCH 2008)

shes not a Golden Bell winner for nothing
shes capable of portraying many different images from stupid (It started with a Kiss), mischeivious (TWFX), tomboyish (Love Contract), devilishly witty and clever (LOCH2008) and etc. pretty diverse.

i first saw her in TWFX and liked her from there and went to find her other works. i think she will actually fit the role in Hana Yori Dango, BUT I DO AGREE that another make of HYD is pretty too soon.

and while i like Hankyung, im not sure if he can act yet.

This is too much. I would be happy if I were the author, I bet her pocket is about to burst from all the dramas.

But personally, I think they just ran out of ideas, and want some attention from comparing with other versions. The story is nothing great, typical love triangle, rich jerk and poor angle.

I adore Ariel Lin, and the girl can really act, so I can see her playing Makino/San Cai. I agree with frejneka; people should have a look at her older roles before judging her purely on the basis of her character in ISWAK and They Kiss Again.

I love Ariel Lin! Although I think I’m seeing her a bit too much recently. That girl is seriously talented. I was completely taken aback when I saw her turn a complete 360 from the slow naive girl from ISWAK to the mischievous and clever girl in FFWL. But the problem is that….I’m tired of seeing her. I’ve just watched her in They Kissed Again, I’m currently watching her in Condor Heroes, and I’m hearing that she’s about to release the adaptation of Skip Beat. Even if I like her, I’m kind of tired of seeing her face…so another HYD drama? PASS

ariel lin is a very alented actress. i’m always surprised when i see her outside of dramas because she’s a completely different person from her iswak character. but i don’t like the idea of her playing makino because makino, is young, she’s in highschool, she has many kooky moments which will probably make ariel resemble her character in iswak. and i don’t really love her role in iswak despite the fact that i watched it.

overall, this is too soon. they should either drop the idea or wait a few years.

both dramas revolve around the same plot
but the feel of it is so different.

If you love HYD enough there is no such thing as too many versions. I wonder if they’ll ever do an American version of it? Probably not because most American stuff goes on and on until the ratings no longer support the series.

so many remakes already. I read while reading wikipedia that Philippines will be remaking meteor garden and other korean dramas. I think that likewise already an overload. plus a remake of coffee prince and fullhouse? I just read it.
