Told ‘ya this was coming!
It’s official, Hyunjoong and Hwangbo finally confirmed their exit to the wedding variety show “We Got Married“. It has been reported that the ‘Ssangchu Couple’ (Lettuce Couple) will film their farewell episode at the Halla Mountain in Jeju Island. Oh how my heart breaks!
The popularity of the couple has risen these past few months, so much so that the show’s PDs assured its audience that no couple will leave after Alex and Shinae for fear of losing in the ratings game. Just weeks before this announcement, Hyunjoong even promised their fans that he will juggle his stint in WGM with his new drama “Boys Over Flower“. However, the demanding schedule and numerous overseas shoot for this year’s much awaited drama seems to be too much for him to handle.
Fans are already irate because of the less than ’special’ farewell given to Alex and Shinae on last Sunday’s “We Got Married“. With the news of one of the funniest and most endearing couple exiting the show, the future is looking bleak for this once top-rated program.
A press conference will be held on November 18 to announce a “re-formatting” for the show. The PDs and the new couples Hwanhee and Hwayobi and Marco and Dambi will be present at the event. Well, they better come up with something brilliant. The ‘original’ couples are a tough act to follow.
Hwangbo and Hyunjoong’s finale will air sometime mid-December. Goodbye Shilang, goodbye Buin. It was fun while it lasted.

If I like the new couple they’re replacing the Lettuce Couple with, I’ll keep watching it. Otherwise I don’t think even Crown J & SIY are enough to make me follow the show anymore :((

Wow, they ~really really really~ need to find an amazing new couple. If the Ant Couple leaves as well, then there really isn’t a point to this show (even though Hwanhee and Hwayobi are growing on me).
I love the show’s concept but I feel like the new PD made it seem to fake and contrived… I dunno… It’s like when X-man shifted to the New X-man. everyone wanted to give it a chance but it just failed.

Man, this sucks! They’re my favourite couple, and the one I always thought was least contrived. People said they were too awkward and went through silent moments, but I reckon that was the most realistic; I mean, you’re pitching two people together who know nothing about each other, plus a 6 year age gap.
They’ve been really sweet lately though, and I wish they could’ve stayed longer. But their exit would’ve come eventually since this is a variety show :/ Ahhh well, there’s still Hwanhee/Hwayobi to watch, and assuming the Ant Couple stays a while longer, we’ve got that too.

The pioneer couples and ssangchu couple (since they’re not one of the original anyway)..their place is hard to be replaced, now that viewers has lots of love for them…ah. ku-rae-ey. Still feeling the stabbing knife on the back of my lower ribs…darn you WGM.

The main thing this means is that the subbers for this show probably won’t keep subbing, which is DOOM AND DISASTER for non-speakers. If only subbing wasn’t so hard…
