Big Bang and Lee Hyori will heat up the stage for a joint performance for this Saturday’s MKMF.
According to the producers of cable channel Mnet, “Big Bang and Lee Hyo Ri’s joint stage will be a 3 part opening at the 2008 MKMF.”
Sexy diva Hyori will perform her rendition of Taeyang’s hit single, “Look Only at Me” while hip-hop group Big Bang does their own version of “10 minutes“.
This ‘surprise’ performance was not supposed to be revealed before the event (because that is what a surprise is) but someone managed to release photos of the popstars while they were in the practice room. Knowing how capable Korean netizens are, of course the news immediately spread.
I don’t know if the producers did that on purpose to create some buzz for the event but whatever it is, it definitely worked. Big Bang and Hyori in one stage makes for a really hot performance.

There’s always hype about these “special stages,” but I always end up disappointed. They’re always generic copies, right down to the costumes, and there’s often so little creativity involved…
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t see this being very good, like it’s cool and all and I like BB and Hyori is fine as hell, but I’m not expecting anything great from them. What I am looking forward to is DBSK’s stage where they’re performing their singles from debut to present. Now THAT is going to be awesome.

And dbsk’s performing all their singles? That will be…interesting if it’s true. I’ve always wondered how songs like Whatever They Say and My Little Princess would sound like if they did them now. But they’ve already performed Hug, Miduhyo and TWUR recently so it won’t be much of anything new to watch for fans I guess.
