Olive9 representative stated that script writer Kim Jiwoo and director Park Chan Hong are preparing a drama for next spring, which made many to speculate that season two of drama Mawang (The Devil) starring Uhm Tae Woong and Joo Ji Hoon might be in the works.
Despite the mediocre tv ratings last year (less than 10%), the drama gained a lot of fans and praises and fans like me would be very happy to another season of Mawang next year.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that Kim Ji Woo and Park Chang Hong will come out with the second season of thriller drama, Mawang next spring.

I’m first! Yay!!!
I thought the cast was good in the first season thought the storyline did drag a little towards the end.
is mawang really that good? i found it weak next to Rebirth, but maybe it’s unfair comparison.
joo ji hoon’s acting was non-existent, but he has amazing presence for sure.
i thought uhm tae woong is too big a movie guy now to do tv?
Didn’t they both die at the end? They were all great in the drama but I just can’t see how they will spin the whole dead thing around…maybe she walked up to them and felt their necks and they still had a pulse?
haven’t seen the original…
joo ji hoon’s acting is mediocre at
best, i can’t watch a show with him..
which sucks cuz i’m a uhm tae woong and shin min ha fan..
i hope its true! but ..
didnt they both die??
i loved this drama
yea…i thought that both uhm tae woong’s and joo ji hoon’s character died in the end.
would they be making a sequel about their ghosts..i doubt it but that would be funny
i didnt even know if this drama was goood …
All I know that both of them Died at the end. don’t know what kind of twisted plot will be use to bring them back alive. or maybe a flash back? anyway, I’m a fan of Joo Ji Hoon and Tae Wong, but just not a fan of sad/bad ending. So I skipped the drama. BUT I know that It’s good.
i sooo love the drama!! i dont why it was underrated..yeah they both died in the end..i thought the tarrot card thing was awesome..
yes more of Joo Ji Hoon<3
Didn’t they both die at the end?? guess not. dang, jk
I don’t think JJH’s acting was bad, lots of time his expressions were showed subtle reactions which were fitting for the cold exterior of the character he played. (IMO, Ohno didn’t do too well in the Japanese adaptation)
That would be really intresting to see how they turn that ending into a whole new season. Hopefully, they do make another season. Uhm Tae Woong and Joo Ji Hoon were good in it.
Wow…I’m so excited! I felt that Mawang was so under-rated in Korea because it was such an experimental genre (Crime/Mystery/psycho-thriller). It’s too bad that the Korean viewers are so narrow-minded in their selection.
But I wonder if Mawang will actually get its original cast back because in the first season…well I won’t spoil it but for those who watched you would know that it was quite a fatal noir ending.
>>>It’s too bad that the Korean viewers are so narrow-minded in their selection.
i can’t wait for the time when drama themes grow to be more mature. [and by mature, i don't mean being half-nekkid all the time and having your nippies showing like it's nobody's business. i personally think that's NOT maturity, it's more poorly thought-out gimmick.]
dramas always revolve around some struggle between poor boy/rich girl or vice-versa with lots of incoherent obnoxious squeaky voice screaming, hair-pulling, and oh, let’s not forget - - ear-twisting. it’s very immature and it gets old really fast.
life is full of flavors, and usually, mature flavors are full-bodied and exceed your expectation. korean dramas, grow up already!
nice..not my fav drama tho…planning to watch maou..dunno why _-
OMG, Mawang, love it, love it. not like you find yourself rooting for the culprit in just any drama. for Mawang, I loved JJH’s character so much that i did wish he could find some way out safe and happy. the darkness of the storyline were brightened thanks to Shin Min-ah’s warm smile. gosh, i was like falling for her smile despitebeing a girl myself. but the ending was not an open one, how will they come up with the second season? hope it will not ruin the drama.
>>>It’s too bad that the Korean viewers are so narrow-minded in their selection.
the international community must also be narrow-minded since it did shit with the non-korean community as well.
i also read the ratings for the jap version was also an epic fail.
why make this into a second season? just team up and make a totally different drama.
