There is at least one piece of good news that has come out of this tragedy.
According to the police, Jung Sun Hee and Ahn Jae Hwan did not file for a marriage license after their wedding, which means she doesn’t have the legal obligation to repay the debt Ahn Jae Hwan owed.
I’m sure nothing can replace her late husband or help relieve the pain of her loss, but at least she’s freed from all the financial worries that could easily have haunted her after Ahn Jae Hwan’s death.
FYI, it’s becoming a common practice not to file for marriage licenses in Korea these days.
Ahn Jae Hwan ended his own life in his car sometime between August 21st and September 7th, 2008. The police are currently investigating the case to determine the exact date of his death.
RIP Ahn Jae Hwan.

good for her, but why didn’t they file for their marriage license??? that’s weird considering they’ve been married for like a year…was that on purpose in case they’ll come upon financial issues?? hmmm
the reason why they didn’t file was because he was already in debt. & once you file, the hubby & wife are both responsible for the debt.
she also paid somewhere in the hundred thousand dollars range for him to help alleviate his debt.
sad for her loss but sure lifts a heavy burden off her shoulder.
Its tragic, tragic news all the same.
I was talking to my mom about this, and she got me thinking. Maybe he wasn’t selfish in killing himself, but took his own life so his wife wouldn’t have to suffer. It’s a terribly sad situation really.
What exactly does a marriage licesnce do then? like lgeally are you not married or does it just tie them together financially?
well this is one elss thing she has to worry about. so tragic.
Although it’s a relieve. It’s only make me sad relizing how much he loves her.
that’s a relief for sunhee
because i was worried she would’ve had to repaid all his debt
but RIP to jaehwan
“Wedding” is symbolizing union (according to religion and whatnot) with approval/acknowledgement from the public. It’s that thing everyone attends, and when they attend, they acknowledge the union of the two.
A “marriage license” merely means it’s recognized by the law.
People could technically be married with the license, but it tends to be deemed as a short-cut (to God knows what) or a hastened approach for financial situations.
Occasionally, there are those stories about people who legally are married (due to the license) but no one knows because of the lack of wedding/religious sanctioning…

all i want is to see that pretty smile of hers again.. when will that be possible, only god knows… i hope she will be able to overcome this.. such a tragedy…
wut about his family though…
yeahh… wut nikeg said….the family?
kimchikimi: I think anyone who takes there own life is extremely selfish. Even if he did it to save her from a better life, he shouldn’t have abandoned her while probably knowing she would be traumatized and grieving because of him. I doubt she would’ve have preferred this.
sad but good for her she would be in huge trouble
????? Why didn’t she know he was missing? “August 21st and September 7th, 2008″ Messed up.
hum, he was missing since August 21st its kinda wired.
